Square plastic reagent containers (UK)
Hi
I have searched hi and low for the square chemical containers with the blue lids!
I am probably using the wrong search terms but apart from a place in china where i need to order 30,000 at a time i have had no luck!!
Round ones made from a light plastic i can find, but the (proper) ones with the blue lids i cant find except for one guy on ebay who wants £7 for 3
of different sizes!
So anyone know where these beasts are hidden? And are they really that expensive? I know china does them for around 32p if you buy 30,000. I am after
a range of sizes from around 25g to 1 or 2 Kg

Thanks, yes thats exactly what i am after. I am hoping you can get them in smallish quantity in the UK.
I have tried so many search terms i wasnt sure what they were called. I thought my description would be obvious as most chemicals you get from
suppliers come in those.

A few vendors ship salts in those. I would just find someone who works in a lab at a university and ask them to save some used empty ones and then
wash them and reuse them. It will be hard to buy only a few of them new. I often save old chemical bottles in certain sizes, as buying just a few
is tough, and finding the exact one you want for sale is harder. Plus shipping is high as they are mostly air, so they need big boxes.

i will have to phone a uni, i live a long way from nearest one >100miles.
I guess if i ask them to save me some and offer to come collect or pay shipping they might.
i asked at school but they do so few practicals that chemicals last forever. The technicians were great at my school and gave me sheds loads of
glassware over the Holidays, but the tech i got to know has left!!
The other tech isnt as....'nice', but i guess no harm in asking. especially if i point out it would be safer if i stored my chems in the proper
containers rather than say...cling film 
OR if 1000 UK members want 30 containers each......China might be an option lol

Fuck, i thought it was my browser settings! you seem to be correct which really pisses me off on this occasion .
So the hunt continues..... I found out our local uni (laughable at 100 miles) dosnt do sciences as such and has no chemistry department :S.
Time to look over the border in England

Forum member Blogfast has a web store that appears to sell chemicals in those containers. Perhaps ask him if he can point you in the right direction
or sell you some?

Notice that the red caps have a PE foam insert
and the blue caps have conical inserts
based on the link provided by PHILOU Zrealone,
nothing special.
Other manufacturers may have completely different seals but similar colours.
Check what you are buying before ordering !
