Free Shit
Alright boys. I'm moving out to Ontario in the summer, so theres some stuff I gotta unload. I live in Vancouver, BC, and although would prefer to give
stuff directly to you, might also be able to post stuff.
Here's some stuff I'm giving away:
-Potassium Carbonate (~400g)
-Potassium Hydroxide (~500g)
-Ammonium Nitrate (~no idea)
-Strontium Nitrate (~50g)
-Barium Nitrate (~50g)
-Barium Chloride (~50g)
-Hydrazine Sulfate (~70g)
-Iodine (~20g)
-Sodium Nitrite (~500g)
-Sulfur (~as much as you need, I have fuck tons)
-50ml Burette
-various beakers
-various flasks
-other glass (pipets, tubes, etc)
-Distillation stuff
There might be other stuff too, but this is what I remember. U2U me or something if you want it. Otherwise I'll go find my high school chem teacher in
Vancouver and see if he wants whatever.
PLEASE I DONT WANT TO THROW THIS CRAP OUT

Oh yeah there's also acids and stuff and a shitty hot plate, stir bars, etc. Just ask and I might have it.

Seriously? You can't box it up and either take it with you or put it into storage?
It will make it a whole lot easier when the time comes to revive the craft.
Other than you, I don't recall anyone in the BC area. Seattle rings a bell but that requires a border crossing which probably makes things more
complex. You should be able to find someone interested though.

My opinion on storing unused chem stuff like that is similar to how most people see eccentrics' plate and cutlery collections. THE STUFF IS MEANT TO
BE USED, THESE ARE TOOLS, NOT COLLECTIBLES!
Home chemistry is becoming gradually less and less socially acceptable, as simple demonstrations and theoretical equations on paper are regarded as
the REAL way to learn chemistry, especially when opposed to the syntheses and preparations only dabbled in by amateurs looking for kicks and dangerous
enemies to the public. Saying you take interest in such synthesis often draws the wrong attention from the wrong people ("What EXACTLY are you trying
to make? What is it used for?") who think it only finds function in malicious activities. This makes it pretty easy to transition out of the hobby.
Anyway, If I was ever that suited to chemistry, I'll find it again eventually.
(EDIT: Sorry for the unnecessary rant, just a bit tired and sentimental from getting rid of all the stuff)

Fair enough. I take it from that that you will be out of the loop for a while.
Sad to see you go.
There is a lot of fun stuff can be done with large quantities of sulfur -- especially now that we have a desktop contact process successful proof of
concept.
I am too far away for anything to be of practical use to me. But there is bound to be someone. All the best.

I have to move within canada as well in the near future, and I can say that not only is it dangerous business to bring chems yourself, but trying to
ship them to yourself is extremely complicated and expensive. I mean, that is if you don't only move one city away.
I never asked for this.

The people who give away free stuff are always across the pond....
Meanwhile, I am still searching for a sulfur source that doesnt charge 8 bucks a pound.
I love the Netherlands.
Anyway, someone get that sulfur!
Seeing SM contact process posts is my highlight of the week.
