Red Phosphorus from flame retardant?

Sorry, im not sure if this is the right section, and if its not please tell me what the correct section is, but I am trying to extract red phosphorus from red phosphorus based flame retardant. Its added to some kind of resin. I wasnt sure if there would be a way to dissolve the resin leaving behind the red phosphorus?

You already posted this in the Short Questions thread, so this is going to Detritus(I also moved your other post from the EM thread to the general short questions thread).
