Mirror neurons and their ability to help learning physical activities

Is it possible to learn a sport or other physical activities simply by watching and imagining. Is this even possible I read about mirror neurons but was confused

no as the motor controls and movement memory is driven by the cerebellum, only thing one gets from the described is getting really good at imagining doing nothing. Well perhaps it will allow one to have a good plan of movement in mind but the actual execution needs to be practiced in real movement.

You can imagine swinging a sword all you want, but if I hand you one and ask you to cut some brambles (A very tough thick and tenacious prickled vine) the out come will be less then stellar to put it another way
