Odd ground glass tapers

I have a 250ml Monax Retort with a taper socket, but a B14 plug almost falls through and a B19 doesn't go in even slightly, I could need something about B16, is there such a thing as a ground glass taper plug (or thermometer adaptor) at B16.

As there will be nitric acid vapour I really don't want to use cork or rubber. is there a sensible alternative?

Try a PTFE stopper. You can buy ones which fit a vairet of sizes. It sounds like this taper is a non-standard taper like some old reagent bottles are.

Is it the standard taper angle? That's a 1:10 pitch. If it is, you may be able to find an extra-long fitting. It will fit somewhere along the extra length, even though it will stick up above or below.

Look for stoppers from volumetric flasks. They're commonly found in sizes corresponding to B12/B16 etc.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>TA DA! C16 16/16 glass stopper<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Buy it right away and tell him John say's hi so he might give me free stuff when I order a stir bar tomorrow. :D

I've bought hundreds upon hundreds of pounds worth of gear from this guy. He's very helpful, patient, usually the cheapest and is good with shipping.

He has a ton of other stoppers his shop. Click to the shop option, not just his items for sale; there are different items in each.
