Vacuum valve suggestions required
To prepare for my long awaited (and probably one more year) new home lab
I want to convert my diy lash-up manometer/barometer
into a finished product.
My lash-up is basically two 1.5m long borosilicate tubes, 9.2mm I'd.
My entire stock of mercury (c73ml) fills about 1m of the tubing.
The rest is plastic tubing.
For use as a barometer I could seal one end of the U tube
but that would prevent use as a manometer.
So I use my dual-stage rotary to approximate absolute vacuum.
I want a valve on the manometer that can maintain less tham 1mm Hg vacuum for as long as cost-effective, ideally for months, hours would probably be a
minimum requirement.

Needle valves are commonly used for gas and vacuum work. Aliexpress is full of them (at modest prices), but if you want something guaranteed to work
try your local pneumatics supplier.
