Homemade Polyesters

Was perusing the archives, doesn't look like anyone made any, at least that was reported. Thoughts anyone?

I've been suddenly overcome with the thought of grabbing some oxalic acid from the hardware store (it ought to be available anyway) and, cackling like the mad scientist I am, mixing it with antifreeze (ethylene glycol aka ethyl 1,2 diol) and maybe some H2SO4 to help dehydrate it...

Just don't expect to make something you can wear out of it. :) IIRC, DuPont tried the whole series of polyesters and nylons, and settled on the medium chain (6,6; 6,7; etc.) ones since the shorter ones and longer ones weren't that easy to handle.
