role of CuI in synthesis of N,N-diphenylacetamide


I have a MW procedure for making this compound, N,N-diphenylacetamide, from 1-methylpyrrolidone and bromobenzene with K2CO3 and CuI.

This is similar enough to another reax I want to do under MW that I'm wondering what the CuI is doing.
