Extremely distorted bonding
Strained bonding has always fascinated me. Cyclopropane and cubane being some of my favorites.

It has the most strained chemical bonds of any substance known or unknown.

Strained compounds.... isn't octanitrocubane a rather interesting specimen?

Yah, of course its fictitious. How else could you have a compound that dissolves exactly 1.3 seconds before the water is added?
I was in an Isaac Asimov kind of mood that day.
Guess this would better belong in Whimsy. Ah well.
