That fume hood is the most redneck thing I've seen in a long time. I like it. :) The stars of Old Glory add a nice touch, too.

However, I wouldn't recommend doing anything flammable, or using concentrated acid in that fume hood. And don't spill...

Just finished the fumehood I've been working on, and thought I'd post a picture of it here. It's made of aluminum and painted with an epoxy enamle paint. The sash is polycarbonate and glass layered together. I welded together a steel rack that fits inside it, and I've got some valves and barb hose fittings on the side to supply RO water, vacuum, and coolant. If anyones wants to know more about it, or has any suggestions for future additions I could make I'd love to hear them. Hopefully the image works. This is my first time using the forum.

Perhaps a thermometer to monitor coolant temperature (in and out) and a clock on the outside.

It looks good as it is. Well done.

I like the thermometer idea. I'm planning to replace the rotary vacuum pump with a recirculating water vacuum aspirator eventually and I'll add a thermometer to the coolant once I'm working on it anyways.
