manometer
Can any one suggest a good place to look for a suitable manometer or gauge to measure vacuum pressure for vacuum filtration.
I tried rapid electronics but theres only works for positive pressure ?

Try a hardware (or DIY) store. That's where I bought mine, probably for <$5.

Why do you want a manometer? If its to see if you have enough vacuum to do the filtration the palm of your hand is a sufficiently precise instrument.
Just start the water and place your palm over the mouth of the filter flask. Be sure you have a vacuum release in the setup. Most workers use a
second filter flask as a water trap and vacuum release.

I had in mind to use a Drechsler gas washing bottle as a water trap.
Although Im wondering if its vacuum safe, would hate to get covered in shards of glass due to an implosion.
