"hog wire" is the technical name for that sort of fencing.

The mesh is too fine. When you clamp something to it you wil find the other wires getting in the way. And you cannot quickly slide a clamp up and down.
Look for something else. I used drawer handles with a nickel finish for my lab rack. Works beautifully.
