Fast question: does calcium chloride interfere the Grignard reaction?

Hey there :)
I've decided on trying the Grignard reaction for the first time. For this purpose I synthesized 1-Bromopropane. I dried it with CaCl2 and redistilled it. The problem is when redistilled some of the nPrBr converted to HBr and the distillate seemed to be strongly acidic(tested via pH paper). I now nuetralized the solution with NaHCO3(s) and redried it over CaCl2(s). Is it possible to just use it as is after mechanically filtering off most of the solids?

Much thanks,
B.D.E.

Shouldn't be a problem. I think it is probably not preferable to have solid CaCl2 in the reaction, but if your filtration is good, it should be fine.
