I noticed this and thought it was very interesting, as hydrides have been hard to come by. But when I read up on it, it didn't seem to have the
widespread application of sodium hydride. Can anyone comment on the utility of lithium hydride relative to sodium hydride?

They will more or less participate in the same reactions as bases, but I think Li being a smaller atom than Na makes it more electrophilic. Also note
that LiH is used as a precursor to other hydrides in addition to its use as a reagent.
Reflux condenser?? I barely know her!

LiAlH4 can be made from lithium hydride. This reaction will also require anhydrous AlCl3 or AlBr3 as well as diethyl ether as a solvent for the
hydride.
Anhydrous aluminum tribromide you can buy in our store at the link:

25$ for 350g AlBr3 (sealed glass ampoule)
90$ for 1400g AlBr3 (4x350g)

I've been checking the aluminum bromide every few days for months, and it just came in! I think before it was restocked there was only one choice of
450 grams for something like $60.
