Possibility of electrolytic lithium metal production in organic solvents (do it like a battery)

It is known that lithium can be isolated electrolyticaly from its molten salts. But there could be an easier and safer method to produce lithium metal by electrolysis of its salts dissolved in an organic solvent.

The process is performed routinely inside Li-ion batteries or LiFePO4.

Lithium is intercalated inside the graphitic electrode of the anode during charging. Intercalated lithium may be difficult to use but under some special conditions it can be electroplated as a metal outside:

In older Li-ion batteries lithium metal was used as the anode and it seems that direct electroplation of lithium onto that anode was the norm

Why isn't anyone making lithium with this method? Are the required organic solvents so difficult to get hold of?

1 Dissolve LiCl in Pyridine.
2 Run current through it
3 ????
4 Profit!

People have filled up 66 pages about making "unconventional" sodium or potassium with crazy methods. I think this method for lithium worths being investigated. I'm sure there are various attempts around the forum that were unsuccessful. I just haven't stumbled accross them yet to be discouraged enough.

And the man with google connections Slowly slipps a folder under the table while not at all looking suspicious. Then abruptly wishes you good luck and leaves.
