Should we expect the UK govt. to Restrict knives and Boiling water?
Should we expect the UK govt. to Restrict knives and Boiling water to 'Professional Users' and Businesses?
Because, when a minority use such and such an object or substance with criminal intent, the default response of the clowns in power is to impose
Blanket Bans/Restrictions, which do not take into account that society is complex: society consists of various individuals who might need such and
such an object or substance for perfectly legitimate purposes.
Not ranting, but I am thinking of emigrating. The UK is going downhill fast.The UK is no longer the High Trust and Prosperous society it once was
(like, for example, in the 1950s).

Boiling water and knives? Unlikely, at least in some places, like: at home, in a kitchen of any sorts, etc. Basically where these items can have a
legitimate use. On the other hand: in the streets? In public places? I can easily imagine a ban on carrying ANY type of knives in such places.
Carrying hot water would be a bit more inconvenient but

There are those who would ban anything COMPLETELY which they don't agree with. This is the crux of the gun debate here in the US. There are
legitimate uses for guns, yet many in power would ban all guns in all situations, no matter how useful they would be, such as in my own home in the
middle of the night when a criminal comes calling. See California and New York. Even with the protection of the Second Amendment to our
Constitution, there are severe restrictions on guns in many places in this country. Yes, we have a problem with illegitimate gun usage, but that’s
not a gun problem, it is a criminal problem. A criminal operates outside the law, by that very definition he is a criminal. All the laws in the
land won’t keep him from doing what he’s going to do. You’re right, the knee jerk reaction by government is to pass more and more restrictive
legislation. Let’s deny EVERYONE the use of whatever is in their sights this time, no matter that many find it useful. Instead of really
concentrating on the real problem at hand, usually some emotional or mental issue with the perpetrator, we blame the inanimate object and deny
everyone else its use. Big government always seems to think that they know best, and as you say, they never take into account that some people have
perfectly legitimate uses for things they want to ban or restrict. It’s sometimes a tough problem, but government is seldom going to study it hard
enough to find reasonable solutions.
You can’t claim you drank all day if you didn’t start early in the morning.
