Mercury(II) iodide

I was looking for pH testing supplies in a local petstore and noticed that they sold Mercury(II) iodide in water test kits.

It's a fairly dilute solution of HgI2 in KI solution made alkaline with KOH called Nessler's reagent used to detect NH3 in fish tank water. I have a small bottle that I found in the closet and I'm more concerned over how to dispose of it than excited that I have it.

It only lists sodium hydroxide and the mercuric chloride. Unless I'm mistaken those ingredients do not make Nessler's reagent, they must be omitting some ingredients from their packaging list.
