Immersion probe chillers vs refrigerated circulators

I usually use a refrigerated circulator to keep reactions between -50c and 0c. Was wondering if an immersion probe that goes to -45c would be more efficient if put directly in the reaction to keep the temp well below zero instead of a refrigerated circulator which is limited in the reaction size it can keep chilled. Any one know anything about these probes and how well they work?
