Camphor peroxide

Since camphor is also a ketone and all ketone generally makes peroxide so is there any way to make camphor peroxide. I also made some attempts .my first attempt was that i dissolved camphor in isopropanol and added h2o2 6% and hcl but this failed because as soon as i added h2o2 camphor just undissolved from isopropanol and floated on top of the solution. I used ethyl alcohol also in place of isopropanol . I Changed the concentration of h2o2 from 6 to 30% but nothing happened. There is also no information on google About this.

yes, i too have wondered about camphor peroxide but i could not find any info.

maybe the molecule is too complex?

on other sites people have said:

-the C=O bond is too protected, unlike acetone or mek

-even if it was made, it would have such a horrible OB that it wouldn't be a very good explosive.

Is there any way to break camphor in simpler form to form acetone or methy ethyl ketone or anything else which can make peroxide

Camphor peroxide might not be able to actually detonate. The molecule would rather big relative to the peroxide groups. It would probably have similar properties to benzyl peroxide.

I see no reason why camphor peroxide would not be formed.

It will not be an explosive, but it may be somewhat useful as a rocket fuel, when mixed with proper oxidizer.

On the other hand, camphor can be used for better things (like sniffing :D :D)

Is there any way to prepare camphor peroxide or to break it into simpler ketones

You can try to make gluconic acid peroxide - its cyclic form contains a carbonyl group. Gluconic acid is made by oxidation of glucose using dilute nitric acid, AFAIK.

Camphor, also known as 1,7,7-trimethyl-bicyclo(2,2,1)heptan-2-o… d-camphor, d-(+)-camphor, (+)-2-bornanone, d-2-bornanone,1,7,7-Trimethylnorcamphor, 2-Camphanone, 2-camphonone, Bornan-2-one, or Caladryl has the chemical formula C10H16O. So why can't it become an energetic peroxide?
1.) Camphor comes in two or more formats ( a semi-synthetic material used in flavoring and organic Camphor. It is complex: somewhat similar to the complexity of cellulose.
2.). The actual useful information has been published (see below) Therefore the complexity of the term "camphor" is too misleading. but there are some other materials that COULD become energetic (to some degree).

No spoon feeding: but the answers are there if you want to so some studying.....

I know about acetone peroxide and i have also prepared it in my lab . Because of its sensitivity i want to go higher to camphor peroxide . I want to make camphor peroxide to generalise its properties and see how much powerful it is but i dont know how to make it. So everyone help and knowledge is appreciated .

I have an idea what happened! The campor peroxide might have been formed, but it remained dissolved in ethanol. Try to evaporate the solution gently.

this time i tried dissolving in other various solvents but this was the only result which i could get as soon as i add hydrogen peroxide in ethanol all the camphor start floating on the top .
