Symbol Insertion System - Volunteer(s) Needed

I'm working on coding a symbol insertion for the forum. The system will allow one to simply click a button, much like the ones that show up in the post reply page (, , , etc.;) to insert symbols (e.g. α, β, γ, °, →, ·, Ω, etc.;) into the text. This project will also add the sorely needed subscript and superscript functionality. So far, work is progressing smoothly but slowly. I simply don't have enough time on my own to prepare all the code, check for browser compatibility, and photoshop the necessary images. I would like to take on one or two volunteers to assist with this project. I can offer nothing as a reward, aside from a sense of satisfaction at a meaningful contribution to this wonderful community.

Requirement(s) for the volunteer(s):

—either— thorough knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript
Applicants must be able to read code fluently in a plain text editor, and generate code by hand– from scratch. If you can't, don't bother to apply, you won't be able to keep up.
If you're intimately familiar with only one or two of the languages listed, but not all, you may still apply.

—or— Photoshop intimacy & experience (PS preffered, GIMP or other image suite acceptable)

frequent availability and good technical communication skills

Brownie points for:

previous experience in error checking and checking for browser cross-compatibility

experience in writing technical documentation, help files, etc.

experience collaborating on such a project–don't worry, I don't have much myself, I normally work alone

Familiarity with the XMB platform is not a requirement but would be beneficial. I can bring you up to speed on the details. I have already set up a server for development & testing, and will provide FTP and other access as necessary. If Polverone likes the results, he will implement the system here.

Apply below or via U2U.
