What is an alternative for celite or diatom. Earth.?

I need a filtering substance and I don't have the money to order Celite online for a ridiculous price. Please, all of you stuck up young ones that definitely know more, please refrain from being a jackass and answer my question simply. What's something else that I can pick up at my local lowe's or Home Depot that will work just as well?

Just trying to figure some stuff out you know?
Aren't we all?

http://www.soapgoods.com/product_info.php?products_id=1003 do you really need a work around for this, ten dollars for a big jug of it is pretty darn cheap. Maybe make a post that isn't so demeaning. What do you need it for first of all?
