although I took apart my electrolysis equipment before getting much use out of it.

Note: use LM393 for IC1, "TLC3702" is a typo.

For Q6-Q9, IRFZ46N will work, however I used STB55NF03L salvaged from a PC motherboard. These surface mount types will easily deliver 5A continuous, perhaps 7A with adequate cooling (considerable board area is devoted to heat sinking), up to 10A for short periods (thermally limited).

Operation:
Apply 18VDC between J5 and J2. Typical source: wall wart; not even 100mA is required. Anything from 12 to 18VDC will do.
Connect a current-limited power supply between J1-J2, load between J3-J4. The power supply's output (current or voltage) is applied to J3-J4, then J4-J3, alternately, frequency controlled by R6 and duty cycle controlled by R8. Do not use a power supply higher in voltage than the "control" source, else the transistors will burn out; a 6V or 9V, 5A supply would be excellent here.

here is an analysis of the Brillouin Q pulse PS, which needs to throw a spike down a baseload DC line.
