what is this thing called?

I'm sure this is dumb.. but I've been trying to find the name for this type of glassware for a few years now. I first saw something like this In one
of Ledgards texts and a bogus address of a manufacturer. The dubious author& his works aside, what do you call this kind of glass? It reminds me
of an alembic, or the top of one but for some reason I've never manged to find out. I thank you very very much for helping me and I wish you all the
best yields.

If the bottom slopes towards the middle, then it might be for extracting solids which are placed in the flask with solvent distilled through the
material to continuously extract it. If the bottom slopes towards the outside, then it could be used as a simple distillation reflux head, where the
distillate is allowed to collect for a time, then is emptied via the stopcock. This allows the held up condensate to be enriched in the higher
boiling material.

Looks like it could be some variant of the Hickman still.
We had them as part of our microscale kits when I was an undergrad. A short explanation can be found here:
