**HSO4 compounds synth.?

Hallo to all,

after having read that H2O2 can be made by electrolising salts like NaHSO4 (bisolfates?), I am interesting in synth. **HSO4 compounds....
I think the process is LIKE (like, not equal) **HCO3 compounds.

Thanx for help.

Bisulfates can be created by adding a stoichiometric quantity of a base to sulfuric acid to neutralize it only to the point desired, e.g.,

NaOH + H2SO4 -----> NaHSO4 + H2O

Sodium bisulfate (hydrogensulfate) can then be removed from the solution by evaporating excess water and allowing the mixture to cool.

Reaction of a sulfate with sulfuric acid will also work in aqueous conditions.

Also by heating Ammonium sulfate you will get ammonium bisulfate but don't overheat it or it will decompose.

H2O2 from **HSO4

Hallo to all,

thanks very much for the useful info.!
What about H2O2 making via electrolising **HSO4 compounds?
Like you have showned, **HSO4 salts seem easy to make and, if with them H2O2 can be maded, we will save most money for buying 30% H2O2!

Thanx for help. :)

Electrolyize Sodium bisulfate with sulfuric acid and I guess that would produce H2O2.

I think what happens is that you electrolize the bisulfate into hydroperoxysulfate. The sulfuric acid and water then hydrolizes it to hydrogen peroxide. Industrialy in electrolysis, they use potassium and ammonium bisulfates.

Problem with this is the separation of the h2o2...

Would this synth be feasible for a home type project? maybe some platinum beads - a psu here - sulfuric and ammo sulfate - just wondering if anyone has done this with any kind of impressive yields.
