Safe storage of volatile materials

Here's what happened to me: I store my hydrazine hydrate in a bottle under water. But I had a bottle of acetone right were I sleep. After few months finally when I can't explain myself where did that acetone go I realize at least 200ml of it have evaporated trough the cap(it's not with a screw). How do you guys store your stuff?

Id say just get an appropriately lined cap for whatever you are storing, and screw it on tight. Especially volatile substances may require refrigeration. For the nasty volatiles (like Br) use ampoules, not reusable, but hey.
