cell phones


this really does not belong on this website but, does any know about cell phone chargers? I need to know whether ever cell phone model has a differnt sized hole to stich the chatging cord in

You bet they do! Most of the time, one can use one charger for the same trademark, so differend types aren't a problem most of the time, but in between trademarks there is a jugle of differend voltages, conection plugs, etc etc.

Why need to know?

another crappy question is if i took a labtop's "power cord" and attatched the prongs that normally end up in a wall to a much weaker power source would the laptop get charged?

Weak AC-It will charge, but at a much much slower rate.
Weak DC- No charge will happen, as transformers( contained in laptop cord/adapter) do not work with DC.

It may not charge at all with weak AC too . Most computer power supplyes (or adapters) are of switchmode type. Those are rather complex devices and generally will not work outside specified input limits. Some of them just switch itself of if they find that anything is not as expected.

so i couldnt just conect a 12 volt / 1.2 watt power source to the end of a cell phone where the cell phone charger usually goes. Are you sure it wouldnt just "trickle energy into the recheargeable batery?
