catalyst for Dimethoxybenzaldehyde->DimethoxyP2NP
Hello.
swins been trying to figure out which catalyst to use for 2,5-dimethoxyp2np synthesis...
Swin thought of using EDDA as catalyst while adding some silica gel and slightly warm the reaction mixture, since the yields for just
edda+nitroethane+the benzaldehyde are not good at all (60ish).
Swin also wants to try out diethylamine, but swin thinks it might not be as good as other catalysts.
Can anyone suggest a better catalyst or confirm edda is a good one?
