Careers in Chemistry
I hope I have the right thread here, if not, sorry for the bother of moving.
I was wondering what kinds of careers are possible with the focus on chemistry or related fields. My parents have always wanted me to be a medical
doctor (mostly because my father is a doctor and the pay can be good), but lately I've been looking into other career opportunities. How does a Ph.D
degree play into getting jobs? What about a Masters degree? Does the university in which you received your degrees make a large difference in the
types of careers open to you? What kinds of work can be done in the industrial setting? What are the daily stresses in working in a
chemistry-related field?
Thanks for any responses.

As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life -- so I became a
scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls.
