Thoughts about Oxilofrin/Methyl-Synephrin/

Hello,
what happens when oxilofrin or methyl-synephrin get reduced with HI red phosphouros?
The structure is simple para hydroxilated Ephedrine.
It is not banned and seemed to be under no regulation.
So why is a reduction in this case impossible for clandestine labs?

It's probably possible. Reduction would lead to a prescription drug called pholedrine that is used mainly to cause pupil dilation. It is known to be a stimulant. At a cursory glance, it looks like it is a more selective monoamine agonist than methamphetamine.

Oh and the phenol group can't be reduced with hydriodic acid and red phosphorus because the hydrogen is too acidic.

This is my YouTube channel: Extreme Red Cabbage. I don't have much posted, but I try to do nice writeups once in a while.

What would you suggest is a potential "simple" method for dehydroxylation? Conversion in diethylphosphatester and liquid ammonia pd/h2? Electrochemical hydrogenation with pd/c? Reduction with hydrazine and appropriate ester? What would you try to remove the phenolic group?
What about halogenation, grignard and hydrolysis in watter? Must i protect the sec. Amim group?
Microbiologically dehydroxylation?

You want to remove the phenolic group as well?

Wouldn't that amount to manufacturing meth?

Why do you ask questions with self-explaining answer?
