thermal paste for a hot plate?


Can you get thermal paste for a hot plate? I've got one of those solid kitchen use ones (I know, but it's still called a hot plate) and thermal coupling between the element and the pot must be terrible... My dehydrator thing works but I get about 300 watts boiling the water (from a 1500 watt element).

So it just has to be a paste that can withstand 500 deg. C and not be toxic, I'd suppose anything is better than just air in the gap.... but if the stuff could be filled with copper filings that would be good too.
