Dissolving Stannous Chloride

Hello,

I was dissolving Stannous Chloride + Ammonium Molybdate in water and got a dark green ppt. Then I read here:

http://www.hbci.com/~wenonah/hydro/sncl.htm

that Stannous Chloride forms a insoluble basic salt with 'much water'. (WTF) :(

Do I need to just use a small amount of water.

Cheers.
