Safety glasses with rubber band

Safety glasses or safety goggles are forms of protective eyewear that usually enclose or protect the area surrounding the eye in order to prevent particulates, water or chemicals from striking the eyes, or when operating (powered) tools and doing any kind of hazardous work. Colored varieties are used when working with very strong and bright light sources, like welding apparatus or lasers.

General

Safety glasses are often made of transparent plastic, though more special models may use glass. Most models use the classical temple frame, while better models use a rubber band, that is stretched over the head.

Availability

Safety glasses can be bought from most hardware stores.
