A cabinet (or storage cabinet) is a box-shaped piece of furniture with doors and/or drawers for storing miscellaneous items.

General

Some cabinets stand alone while others are built in to a wall or are attached to it like a medicine cabinet. Cabinets are typically made of wood (solid or with veneers or artificial surfaces) or coated steel (common for medicine and lab cabinets).

Availability

Cabinets or different shapes and sizes can be bought from many home stores and online.

Chemical resistant cabinets can be bought from lab suppliers and online.

DIY cabinet

You can make your own cabinet from wood or by reconditioning an old locker. Broken fridges and freezers can also be used as lockers to store labware and reagents.
