Fusing TM oxides with KHSO4...

Does anybody here have any experience with fusing transition metal oxides with KHSO4? In particular TiO2 which is only solvable in boiling concentrated sulfuric acid (and possibly concoctions with HF). I haven't got any conc. sulfuric (and dread HF) but I know fusing TiO2with K bisulfate is used to dissolve the Ti as TiOSO4.

In particular what oxide/bisulfate ratio would be desirable? I'm looking at dissolving some 6 g of titanox this way.

Other tips and tricks welcome too... :)
