help me with these questions!

Hello world , i'm new ryte here hoping to find what i want....
1- how is sodium hydroxide produced through the hydrolu\ysis of NaCl? can u show me a diagram for this process and explain to me what happens in hydrolysis process?

2- "electrolysis of molten sodium chloride using flux substance to decrease the melting point of these halides".
what is the meaning of the colored words?
and how does this flux substance decrease the melting point of these halides?

3- "sodium nitrate is not used in explosives because it is a deliquescent "

how?

4-"electrolysis is the best way to extract G1A metals beacause they are the most reducing metals at the top of electrochemical series - can't be replaced by less active metals"

so what is the relation of the cause with the result?

Thanks in advance

3. By deliquescent, I assume you mean Hygroscopic. Meaning....it pulls water out of the air, and liquefies itself.

The rest, ask Wiki.

1) http://www.google.com/search?q=sodium+hydroxide+salt&ie=...

2) general concept http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flux_%28metallurgy%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ceramic_flux

3) because. Definition http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deliquescent and after that think it over a bit

4) relation of cause & result is "electrolysis is the best way to extract G1A metals because they are the most reducing metals at the top of electrochemical series - can't be replaced by less active metals". Unlike say copper, which iron or zinc will precipitate from copper salts (forming the corresponding Fe or Zn salt), GA1 has higher electronegativity than other metals, react with water and many of the other solvent for 1A salts. Its electrolysis or high temperature reactions that the 1A metal vapourises from.
