colour of hexachlorostannate(IV) solutions
I have researched this and it remains very elusive - that is; what is the colour of [SnCl6]2- in solution?
All I have found are some references to the ammonium salt, which apparently is pink, although this didnt seem very conclusive.
The answer im hoping for is yellow...
If anyone could provide any links or information about the chemistry of tin, I would be very grateful. The books I have do not go into depth with tin
and I can find little on the internet apart from the common reactions.

In my book, complexes of SnCl4 are mentioned, the parent compound SnCl4 being mentioned as colourless, the color of the complex unfortunately is not
mentioned.
The solid ammonium hexachlorostannate (IV) is white, when in the pure state. This also gives strong evidence for the complex being colorless.

So, I'm inclined to say it is colorless, and not yellow.

Thanks woelen, I agree with you after some more research.
Apparently the ammonium salt of hexachlorostannate(IV) is called "pink salt" for some random reason despite being white... and yes I think it is
colourless in solution.
