Gold electrodes for chlorate cell??


Would gold plated wire work for the anode or
will the Cl dissolve the gold.

Gold plated wire is much cheaper than platinum

Pt dissolves because it forms a soluble chloro complex. Au forms a similar complex even more easily, so I doubt it would work.
