Copper fulminate synthesis.
I prepared copper fulminate based on the procedure here: https://www.google.com/amp/s/thosci.com/preparation-of-coppe... I dissolved an small excess of potassium nitrate into sulfuric acid to prepare an
excess of nitric acid. Into the nitric acid I dissolved some copper wire. It was too concentrated so it passivated the copper. I added some water and
scratched the surface of the wire. After leaving it overnight, I decanted off the liquid(some wire and nitrate/sulfate crystals were on the bottom). I
slowly added ethanol and lots of no2 bubbled out. Once it reacted no more I put it in the freezer to cool. Rhombus shaped crystals very similar to
mercury fulminate formed. When no more formed I filtered it. The water was pressed out in a paper towel. The final yield is about a tablespoon. A
small amount over a candle melted, bubbled and left a coating of copper on a spoon. I was unable to get it to detonate(probably because it was still
damp. Any tips on drying or detonating?

Use a desiccant agent like calcium chloride
Get a glass jar and put about 100 g of calcium chloride in it at the bottom, then you place something ontop of it with holes punched on the surface
(could be a piece of cardboard with holes on it). Then you put a piece of filter paper on top of the cardboard and the fulminate on it. Close the lid
and wait 24 hours.
Oh, hello!

I don't think you should be trying to prepare primary explosives without having some idea of what the fuck you're doing...
Read up on it thoroughly or you'll put yourself in line for the Darwin Award!

I know what I'm doing, I was testing the sensitivity and reporting an observation. Copper fulminate has like zero literature, but I can base my
precautions on mercury or silver fulminate. Was looking for different ways to dry it because vacuum desiccating was recomended, and I don't have a
vacuum pump.

Actually it does have literature.
All so you do not use any sulfuric acid in its making! and especially non in making copper Nitrate.
If you had made fulminated copper wet or not it will detonate.

from another pdf
Cu-orofulminate
is very light gray shading slightly into green-- perhaps even white as chloride if it is not influenced by light, and is stable when kept dry but
oxidizes easily in moist air. Heat of detonation is 508 cal/g. Sensitivity to temperature increase is approximately that of fulminating mercury and
cadmium but is less sensitive to impact than the latter.
Its density is lower than that of the other heavy-metal fulminates and its working density consequently only slightly higher than that of the thallium
salt; its shattering power is appreciably greater, however, and is only slightly below that of cadmium fulminate.

So, you where saying about knowing what you are doing? A simple google search yielded, these, some I have on hand, what you are playing with can
remove your life, never mind hands, the gas by products can kill you as well, and fuliminic acid is poisonous its self.

You have much to learn...as Xeon already intimated...
You could check this out?
Then UTFSE for other relevant info.

And it is correct as he just pulled it from the patent, and it is the same as the lower links.
Yes I did notice his name attributed to it how ever the information is valid as cross compared to the newer links of methods, I included it more for
the responses!
Do not let ones name determine the worth of information.

No sulfuric acid was used, the potassium sulfate crystallized out.
I saw that first link, it just on a bigger scale than the other, same procedure
I spent link 20 minutes looking on Google for it. I saw a couple of those, but most of what came up was the mercury salt.

Is there any way one could start from a cyanide?
