Buying Glass today
what size tubes should I order?? something thats not too tiny but not ginormous...
15x125 seem ok?
im buying
Petri Dishes, Glass w/lid, 150mm $3.75 (for evaporation)
Erlenmeyer Flask Set 50, 125, 250, 500 and 1000ml $20.16 (cuz i need em)
Thermometer Red Spirit 0-230F White Back tot imm $6.00 (need this too)
Separatory Funnel, Glass stopcock, 500ml $15.75 (comes in handy)
i already have all the beakers i need..

I normally buy a box of 100 16x125 borosilicate test tubes for normal usage, and a box of 10 Pyrex boiling tubes 25mm x 150mm.
these last a good 4-5 years (depending on workload and clumsiness).
damn pity you lived so far away, I have all sorts of flasks and measuring cylinders and test tubes etc...
I don`t own a Single beaker!

A good way to get beakers is coffee caraffes from Goodwill or whatever. A lot of them are pyrex and have nice handles on them. They don't look very
professional but they work well and are cheap as hell. I have them in all sizes from about 250 ml to a liter. I prefer regular beakers for the
storage convenience but coffee caraffes are a lot cheaper. Over the years I've rounded up some good labware on the net as well.

On emore thing- don't use deg F thermometers. Nobody reports parameters in archaic units except engineers.

From the looks and joint sizes, that glassware is imported, made to the ISO DIN standards.
Would be nice to know what glassworks that they are getting their product from though.
Might be eastern Europe or China, cant tell.
