Ta from tantalum capacitors
I'm an element collector.
I wonder how to get Ta from tantalum capacitors like
http://www.theodoregray.com/PeriodicTable/Elements/073/index...
How can I identify Ta capacitors on circuit boards?
Are there any toxic substances inside those capacitors?
Thanks in advance.

The small tantalum capacitors are on hardly all boards with electronic parts, and there is nothing toxic in it.But there is only a small amount of
tantalum in form of pressed tantalum powder. The capacitors are small, but have quite good capacities, because the tantalum oxide is a very good
insulator.I think you want to have bigger capacitors, but I donĀ“t know much about it.
Here is a picture of a small tantalum capacitor: http://home.arcor.de/bwirmer/elektronik/bauteile/images/tant...
Just break it up and take the small dark grey piece of tantalum.
