Hydrogenation of only C to C double and triple bonds

Is there a catalyst that only reduces Carbon to Carbon double/triple bonds?

H2/Pd does that as well as -NO2 -> -NH2

Thanks!

it is important that you tell us what functional group you do NOT want to be reduced in this reaction.

Most reactions can have multiple potential effects on different groups, so to ask us whether there is something that will do one reaction but absolutely nothing else, the strict answer is no.

while we are on this topic, AlH3 is an interesting reducing agent in that in generally does not reduce nitro groups.

Making a program that hydrogenates a molecule.

Been looking up different catalysts and there are a lot that do different things, obviously I need to do a lot more research.

I will ask here again when I have a specific question about a certain catalyst.

Thank you for your time :)
