Medical UVB Tubes

I realize this is a very old thread, but I found it through some online queries into DIY phototherapy.

If no response, I'll start a new thread.

My question is, are medical narrowband UVB tubes compatible with standard fluorescent fixtures? If so, I could save hundreds of dollars and stay within my budget. The larger devices sold for phototherapy are quite steep, but the bulbs are not out of my reach. If they do not have any proprietary dimensions or power requirements, they could be installed in a shoplight from Home Depot.

I appreciate any info!

It's hard to say without knowing the dimensions and power requirements...
