Benzyl Chloride Distillation

Trying out my new short path from Dr. Bob with it's first distillation. Thought I'd throw up a few pics.
Initially it was straight through but the bumping was too bad, so had to add a claisen adapter and a bit more activated carbon. I also initially started with the merker burner, but moved to the hotplate for finer temp control.
It started clear but the boiling pot quickly took on a yellow tinge and the receiver was crystal clear, with a high refraction/rainbow when looking through the flask.
Not sure I'd want to attempt this at all without vacuum as it is horrible on the eyes/nose.
I also put some pics of my old as hell pipettes.

A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?

Nice pictures!

From the looks of the first picture, it doesn't seem that you were running coolant through the condenser during the first run, or was this before. Where are you venting the vapor line?
