Secret Santa for 2025 is now closed. I'll match up recipients to santas starting tomorrow. I'll do every possible to pair up with regard to geographic location.

This year, I've only chosen Europe. I've heard there are problems with Trump's customs duties. I really like the Netherlands, but I've never been there, so maybe I'll be lucky and get someone from that country;)

So if I thought of things for my wish list too late to edit my application, should I pm you to add them, or post them here?

Addendum

DraconicAcid, check your U2U. I've added the additional items to the list.
Also included is the address you requested and it does work.

Secret Santa 2025 Allocations

All sent out via U2U. Sent out 10 more cards yesterday.

Let's have some fun !

Vince

P.S. I've tried match Santas to Santees wherever possible in the same country or
even the same continent. This is important because it keeps shipping costs down and of course all the bullshit in Washington D.C. doesn't help. In any event I've tried to keep distances as close as possible. For example, ALL of the U.S. Santas and Santees are in the U.S.. So no tariff BULLSHIT to deal with !

UPS Delays

U.S. members should consider this in view of the UPS plane crash in Kentucky. They put their air transport on suspension for the time being. We won't know immediately how this affects moving our packages but USPS, FedEx and probably DHL should be considered if this continues.

As with last year, I’m not participating in Secret Santa this year, but I’m happy to offer a 20% discount to anyone who would like to purchase items from me for Secret Santa! I can ship directly to your santee, if this is of interest to you.

I will be out of town from 11/27 through 12/8, but I will get any orders I receive during that time shipped out as soon as I can upon my return.

My thread, for your convenience: https://www.sciencemadness.org/whisper/viewthread.php?tid=16...

I saw in the news that both UPS and FedEx are grounding all flights for only the MD-11s, which account for 9% of their total combined fleets. Shouldn't be much of an issue, but ground shipment is also available for most cases.

Yup. It has been frustrating lately. Not sure what the long term solution is -- it is above my pay grade.

In the meantime, I have had some success in logging in without https.

I have shipped some stuff now, so hopefully things will get to where they belong in a timely manner. Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving, as well as a Merry Christmas in a month, and then maybe 2026 will be better than 2025.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too! I've got a couple of small things still to get, then I'll be ready to send my santee's gift!

Thanks to Santa, I got my package of mineral samples, which is great. My wife might get the heart shaped agate, as she will like it. I got a pretty rock from someone a few years back and she ended up with it, as she likes sparkly rocks, like many women...

Since many of you in the US have received a box now, I will say that I sent a box of bottles, vials and other items to all of the US participants. I have a LOT of boxes of bottles, so I decided to send a mix of them to everyone for Christmas. So if you got a box from me just recently, it is a bonus Secret Santa gift. Only one person was my official Secret Santa, and they got a similar box, just bigger and with more random things in it. They know who they are... So Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to everyone on the forum.

With the books, that's two boxes of goodies I got from Dr. Bob! Thanks a bundle, and hope you had a good Thanksgiving. I know I've been blessed this year, and hope everyone else is, too!

Also, I should have my Santee's gift mailed this weekend (hopefully). Fingers crossed I packed it well enough...

I received my bag of goodies from Dr.Bob. I thank you, sir. You really are a blessing to this community. My gift should be on its way shortly. This really is my favorite part of the year!
