Someone asked me about UV lamps, so I gathered them all up and took some photos. I have tested them all, and they all work. The one wavelength 345 nm (UVL-21) ones I would ask $40 for, the single wavelength 254 (UVG-11) I would ask $50 for, and the duel wavelength (UVGl-25) I would ask $60 for.

Thanks to several SciMad people for help in cleaning out the latest chemistry business to shut down. We have removed 2 hoods and their benches, lots of chemicals, glassware, and equipment. This has also produced over $3000 for the widow to help her pay for things. We may have even found someone to take over the lease, but not sure yet. I am still sorting and cleaning the glassware, but will continue posting as I get things in ready to ship condition. But I have found more various bottles, rotovap parts, smaller heating mantles, flasks, and so much more.

For chemicals, I do have a lot (100's) of substituted phenols, carboxylic acids (both benzoic and aliphatic) and a few inorganics that I might be able to ship small bottles of. So if you are looking for any of those, please let me know which ones, and I likely have them. Sadly, there are many nice chemicals that are hard to ship or large amounts, so shipping would be tough, but several local people have gotten a variety of those so far. I will try to update my list soon with many of the new finds, but it will take a while to list all of it.

Also, if anyone, especially in academics, is interested, there are a lot of boronic acids, mostly small containers, most of which are solids and easily shipped. I have also found a few 1-5 g bottles of palladium acetate, palladium chloride, platinum oxide (various types and batches), a variety of Pd(triphenylphosphine) compounds, the dichloride and other salts. Most of the Pd(0) triphenylphosphine material is clearly crap now (red), but if someone if interested in trying to recover the Pd or reduce it back to useful (yellow) Pd(0) material, I would be happy to discuss that. I also have a number of various phenols, they might be harder to ship, but if someone can think of a use, let me know.

Also, I found a whole pile of like new smaller heating mantles, mostly 100, 200, 250, or 500 ml size, so I am adding them to my spreadsheet shortly.

Here is a photo of one of the 5L 24/40 rbfs I have (this one has a minor etch around the middle from a PTFE paddle, I suspect), plus a 2L and 4L sep funnel that I have cleaned up. i can provide a PTFE or glass stopper for either one. These are some of the last large sep funnels I will likely have. Asking $50 for the 5L rbf, $50 for the 2L sep funnel, and $65 for the 4L, plus the actual shipping costs. The 2L sep funnel has a straight cut drip tip, the 4L has a small chip on the tip, but in very good condition.

I have several Foxy 200 type fraction collectors available from the lab I am cleaning out. I am happy to basically give them away if you are willing to pay for shipping and handling (my cost of packaging materials) to your address. They weigh about 30 pounds, so not cheap, but likely $100 will get you one. I think most of them work, and I will ship the best ones first, so the sooner you claim one, the more likely it is to be working and cleaner. I have lots of racks as well, I'll send 2 or more with each, whatever fits into the package easily, they will each add a pound or so to the shipping. I just need to find them a home and get them out of the lab. I attached some generic photos as I have a few of them, but no photos yet.

I still have a large oven, a ductless hood for weighing and handling solids (filters the air and recirculates it), and a small benchtop hood to find homes for in the next few weeks. I also have a large stainless enclosure that is about 4 x 4 x 6 feet.

I also have an entire mid-sized hood left to remove (got 2 out already) if anyone wants to find a way to get it. I can't find a photo of it now.

Just sold the bottom three items above last week. The stainless steel enclosure turned out to weigh 1290 pounds, so it was a lot more fun to move that I thought possible. It had been a eclosure for some machine tool originally, and the base was made of 1" thick plate steel, the rest was stainless and thick as crap.

I want to thank everyone for the help cleaning out the lab, it is complete now, the lease is cancelled and a new chemist has leased the space now, so they are keeping the remaining hoods and such, as part of the lease deal. Still sorting out the stuff I removed in order to sell it all, lots of rotovap parts and pieces, lots of glassware, including a ton of glass frit funnels, which I have been cleaning for 2 months. So I now have a lot more frit funnels available, and have tried to update the spreadsheet. I still have more small ones left to clean and add to the inventory, so if you want small ones shown as 0 in stock, let me know, I likely have some and will keep adding them.

Also have a lots of larger erlenmeyers and filter flasks now cleaned, if you have been wanting one, now is the time to act while I have a few to choose from.

Just found yet more glass frit funnels, a bunch of 29/42 ones, and many more smaller ones, 15, 30, and 60 ml ones in plain, 14/20, 24/40 and 29/42 joints, in fine, medium and course. Most are clean, but I have a few that are not very clean, I can do a deal on them if anyone is ok with slightly dirty ones. Also have a very nice pair of polarimeters, one manual one (you turn the dial until the view is black, asking $175 on Ebay, see below, cheaper bought directly) and one fancy electronic automated one, which determines the rotation and can also do all of the math is you set it right with concentration and such. Still getting photos of the fancy one.

Got another load of stuff processed and cleaned. The biggest thing is an automated Polarimeter. Someone had been interested in it before, but went with a manual one, so I still have the fancy one, an Azzoto® AUTOMATIC POLARIMETER +/-45 model. This used to sell new for ~$4000-5000 and sells used on Ebay for about $1500-2000. The newer model they sell now is over $10,000. I will be listing it for $1500, but if anyone is interested, let me know, it would save a lot of fees to sell it directly.

I also have a whole box of erlenmeyer flasks, mostly 1L Pyrex ones (asking $10), about 6 or so, but many other sizes as well, including one 5000 ml 29/42 stopper top flask (make me an offer). Plus I have a variety of TS 22 stopper top 125 ml erlenmeyers (5$ w/glass stopper). I am trying to catch up on all of the u2us and emails, but I have gotten very busy again, so I apoligze for the delays.

I have one or two Buchi Rotovap R114s frame and motors available from this lab cleanout. The motors works, and I have the glassware and parts to build a rotovap up from them. I do have some various water baths also, trying to test them currently. I also have all of the glassware for these, both water and dry ice condensers available. I would ask $120 for the base, the other parts would depend on which versions you want. This will likely be my last rotovap motors to sell. But I have lots of parts and pieces left.

Another person asked me about pressure tubes. I have a large assortment of them, mostly from Ace, a few from ChemGlass. The larger ones use a large PTFE cap, I have a few but not enough for every bottle, so I would prefer to sell them in pairs of bottles with one cap. The smaller tubes are similar, there are two types of caps, the top sealing ones and the ones with a smaller inner O-ring, both work with any tube, but again I have fewer caps than tubes, so I would like to go 2 or 3 to one there. I would ask $20 per tube for smaller ones, $30 for larger ones, 40 for the small bottles, and $50 for the large bottles. Then $20 for the smaller caps, and $30 for the larger ones for the bottles. If you wanted more tubes or buy other things at the same time, I can provide discounts, same for acedemic buyers.

I have been sorting through some metals and salts to find some chemicals, and found these, which I am happy to sell. Most are open bottles, with a estimated weight, but I will try to confirm the exact weight before selling if someone is interested, or provide smaller amounts, in order to correct the price to the exact weight. I can ship to the US easily, overseas is very tough, but might be possible, but will cost a good bit in most cases.

Pd(II) Choride - 1 g Oakwood - 035789 - $40/g
Pd(II) Choride - 1 g Premion, 99.999% - $40/g
Pd(II) Choride - 5g Aldrich, 20588-5 99% - $40/g - Looks like ~3g, can weight to order
Pd(II) Acetate - Aldrich - consolidated several grams into one bottle - $40/g
[1,1′-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene]dichloropalladium(II) - 1 g Oakwood - 035791 - $40/g
Dichlorobis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II) - 1 g Aldrich 414050 - $40/g
Dichlorobis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II) - 1 g Aldrich 208671 - $40/g
Dichlorobis(tri-o-tolylphosphine)palladium(II) - 5 g Aldrich 45304-8 - $50/g
Palladium (II) oxide Hydrate - Alfa 052081 - 10 g - sealed ampule, NEW - $1000/10g - Can't split this one.
Rhodium black (99.9%) - Strem - 500 mg - 45-1500 - still sealed, it appears - $150
Platinum Oxide (PtO2) - Morton Thiokol - 5g - old bottle - $100/g, less for larger order
Platinum Oxide (PtO2) Hydrate - Alfa 1g - old bottle - $80/g -
Platinum Oxide (PtO2) - unknown source - ~5g - old bottle - $60/g - Happy to let you test a small amount first.
I have a variety of Pd and Pd(OH) on carbon, 5 and 10% , dry and wet, from 1g to 50 g bottles, $20/g, less for larger amounts or older bottles.
Pd tris(dba) - $20/g
I have many more chemicals, trying to catalog them, but mostly trying to sell the non-hazardsous ones that I can shipp easily. Also have many simple salts, carbonates, halides, and other common inorganics.

RBFs W, X, and Y are now gone. But I found a few more 29/42 rbfs in 500 ml and 1000 ml, so I will likely make one more final kit in 29/42 if anyone is interested. Those would be ideal for someone who is recovering or purifying solvents in a liter scale or so. Not ideal for small scale work.

Also I have two 2L graduated cylinders with minor damage, one has a chip on the top pour spout, the other has a big piece of the base missing, but still stands and the pour spout is perfect. Also have a 4L one, all intact, but will cost a bit to ship due to the large size and length. And I still have lots of 1000 ml, 100 ml, 50 ml, and smaller grad cylinders.

Here is one more 2L 3 neck I just found the other day. It has a center 29/42 joint, and 2 side 24/40 joints. Handmade by Prism glassware in RTP NC a few years ago, in very good condition. I would ask $30 for it. I also still have a few 500 ml 3 necks in 29/42, and 1L one and three neck 29/42 rbfs.

I have several partial bottles of sodium thiosulfite left, about 200 g each, happy to give them to anyone who wants it, preferably as a free addition to any order. Not worth shipping alone, really, but free with any other order.

Someone asked me about the aldehydes that I have left, someone just took about half, and now have about 50 left. i just took photos of what is left, if you are interested in any, let me know and I will see how I can ship it. I have a few more basic ones as well, in larger bottles, that I would have to ship an aliquot of, to make shipping possible. That would include benzaldehyde and a few other simple ones.

Update on the round bottom flasks. Here is what is left now:

I have sold some of the flasks previously listed, but have another box of them to list. Most have larger joints than 24/40. I show an asking price, if you want more than a few I can go lower with a volume discount. Or make me an offer, I am trying to sell these to make space as I have a lot of glass right now. I do have lots of 29/42 accesories, condensers, adapters, and much more.

Additionally I have found many more rubber stoppers and vacuum adapters for filter flasks to funnels. If anyone buys a 1 or 2 l filter flask, I will supply 2 sizes of the larger adapters for these flasks. I can also provide a bag of 10 assorted rubber stoppers for $2, or try to find specific ones if you really want them, have solid, one and two holes in some sizes, green and black rubber, plus I have some 14/20 septa in bags of 100, in red and white rubber, those are only $15, they cost $100 from Aldrich. They are a few years old, but still flexible and working well. And I have another entire box of flash columns, from 1/2" to several inches in diameter for cheap. Especially if you want a set of them of various sizes. Just let me know what type of top (S35, 24/40 or open top), reservoir or not, stopcock or not, frit or not.

I just photographed the remaining 24/40 jointed flasks, I have 2 Morton type rbfs, 1000 and 500ml, 2 250 ml 3 necks, one straight/one angled, a 1L 3 neck, a 500 ml 3 neck with an extra 10/30 therm port, and some other smaller rbfs.

I also found another box of columns, these are just a sample, but I have them from 1/2" to 2 or 3" diam, with and w/o reservoir, w and w/o frit, and w/ or w/o stopcock. I am happy to make deals on multiple columns, typically $10 each, more for larger ones, but I can do a set of different sizes for $60 with lots of extras, including silica gel, flow regulators, extra reservoirs, and you can think of more, I am sure.

I also have yet more various bottles, jars, vials, tubes, and more, hard to list it all.

I have one 2000 ml 24/40 3 neck rbf with a bottom drain. - I have not set a price but it is quite a nice flask, looks like new I might have had one in 1000 ml but cannot find a photo of it so far.

And I have a small variety of jacketed fixed kettle reactors, mostly from 250 ml to 1000 ml, maybe one at 2000 ml, but not sure off hand on a 2000 ml one. I do have one big one, 5 or 6 L, but it will be pretty pricey, I still need to research that one and will likely list it on Ebay, they sell new for $5-6000, and this one is pristine.

I had some 10/18 glassware, a micro set which I sold, but I might have a few pieces left, so I will look to see what is left.

Do you still have the 1L reaction vessel seen in the photo?

If I had to burn some benzene under a reduced atmosphere of oxygen, and collect the soot, do you think this might be an acceptable container to do it in? Running cold water through the walls should cool it down enough that if the flames "lick" the sides, it won't break them. And the opening is big enough I can fit in a small ceramic dish of the benzene.

I do still have most of the reactors show in the previous listing:

http://www.sciencemadness.org/talk/viewthread.php?tid=15667&...

I also just found a 2L reactor while looking around, it is shown below.

For the 250 ml reactors, I would ask $75, for the 500 ml ones - $90, for the 1L ones, I'd ask $125, and the 2L one below, I'd ask $200. Those are about 2/3 of the lowest Ebay prices I see, which are just for the bottom piece in most cases.

I will have to try to find a matching top, I only have a few of those to choose from. What I DON'T have are the needed O-rings and seals to connect the two pieces. I don't know where they went, but I don't have them, you will need to find them. But they are available. If anyone knows a good source, please let me know. As I get more time, I will try to make sets with those parts, but I have not had time to do that yet.

I don't know if burning benzene will work in these, but it likely won't hurt it. I might even have a porcelin dish that would fit in it.
