ReServe Wine Preservation System - Argon Canisters, adaptor & regulator

Just found this, the original unit purchase is a bit OTT at $120-odd, but the argon canisters look tasty - about $15/3 - be interesting to see if that adaptor (which is made to form a gas seal with a glass fitting after all) can be made to fit directly onto another type of glass fitting (maybe even cut the top off a wine bottle and use a teflon adaptor to mate that to the gas manifold?).

Anyhow, this looks like a good small scale system for home use.

The gas canisters are made especially for Wineinnovations by ICI so it should be pretty good.

EDIT

Here is an even better one, this unit (US$39.95; http://peksystems.com/store.aspx?prod_id=133&cat_id=1#bo...) uses the same cartridges (4 = US$11.95; http://peksystems.com/store.aspx?cat_id=2) uses the included stoppers (which are designed to fit a standard wine bottle in place of the cork - the corks of wine bottles fit nicely in 24/29 sockets) and the argon is introduced through the stopper, which is then left in place (gas tight seal) while another canister is fitted into the unit.

Fuck manifolds, this could quite conceivably be fitted to a side neck or adaptor;)

I posted a few days ago about argon in small compressed containers for wine preservation, but I did not include any specific products and the ones I have seen are not as sophisticated as these. On the other hand they are a lot cheaper as I recall.
