Vortex Tubes: The colder the input, the colder the output?

1.) Does the cold exhaust of a vortex tube drop proportionately to the temperature of the intake?
2.) Does the transfer of heat increase with the pressure or velocity of the intake gas?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vortex_tube

A quick Google search using words from Wicki "Ranque-Hilsch vortex tube"
turned up over 1800 items, among them a thesis from MIT:

I'll leave it up to you to interpret the information.
