Dissolving a bit AL in liquid Bi-Sn alloy in place of using Hg-AL for reduction ?
Hello Guys! What kind of groups is Hg-AL+HOH able to reduce and whether somebody knows if Rose alloy (Bi-Sn-Pb) with m.p. 98 celsius works in place of
Hg to achieve the same effect ?

Usually Al/Hg reductions are done in MeOH, bp 65 C. Bi-Sn eutectic is at ~145 C. See the problem?

clearly_not_atara sorry, but I meant using the one that has Bi-50%, Pb-25% and Sn-25%. Its melting point is between 94 and 98 °C. Adding 1 tenth
Aluminum by mass will increase the melting point how much and won't it make reactive form of Aluminum capable to reduce Ketones and Aldehydes into
Alcohols or Alkanes, Nitrols or Imines into Amines and Acids into Alcohols or Alkanes ?
