FREE Lab Equipment & Reagents - Victoria, Australia

Hey Sciencemadness forum, it's been a while!

After not having logged on for so long, it's great to see the site still ticking along and so many familiar names in the recent logon list - I hope you're all doing well.

Circumstances and direction have changed for me over the years and unfortunately there's no longer the physical space or time in my life for hobby home chemistry (at least not the practical side). This means I have a fairly large inventory of reagents and equipment that need a new home.

I'm hoping that I might be able to both save myself a lot of disposal headache and give back to the community that supported and fuelled my hobby for many years by offering the inventory for free. I know there are a few hobby chemists in Australia that were active when I was, and hopefully some more have joined since then. I'd be really happy to see the supplies go to someone who will get use out of them, rather than having to dispose of it all.

The inventory consists of a good deal of common and uncommon reagents, glassware (including distillation and extraction equipment), a hotplate/stirrer, and PPE. I'll take some photos and make up a more detailed list in the coming days - I just wanted to get this out and gauge interest.

I'm located in regional Victoria, about 3 hours east of Melbourne, however I would be willing to discuss driving out and meeting part-way. Who knows, could be an excuse to take a short domestic holiday.

Feel free to respond here or in U2U with any questions - I'll do my best to be a little more active than I have of late :D

Hey! Great to see you back after *checks notes* 9 years! Obviously can’t help you with offloading your supplies, but I hope you’ll stop by now and then.

Edit: you’ve been gone so long I may need to clarify that I am the member formerly known as zts16 :D

Hey! 9 years boggles my mind, I had to double check... I was just thinking about you guys recently because of the news of Skype shutting down. Good days.

Hi mate!! Long time no see it seems. I was also remembering the Skype group in light of Skype getting shutdown. A constant stream of messages, but they were moderated or put in rooms like all this discord nonsense. Just a chat room. Would probably be unusable now, given people are so used to things being organised, but it was good at the time!!

Anyway- I’ll send you a DM about acquiring chemicals and all that, hell yeah

Hello! I've sent you a U2U to inquire about such apparatus and material. I'd be immensely interested were you to have anything remaining.
I'll not only give it a home but put it to use.

I'd be happy to show you pictures of what I end up using it for, too. :)

Enticing was a post by Volanschemia,
with prospects that could not be dreamier.
Now his inbox contains a U2U,
left unread for a month or two,
From a member who can't find a word ending in -emia.
