Providing oxygen to an aerobic culture in a flask

What would the best way to provide extra oxygen to an aerobic bacteria in a flask? Two hole stopper, one with an aerator? Just stick the aerator in it? (A simple fish pump, even) What's the most effective way of doing this?

The standard way to do it is to use a large erlenmeyer, say 5x to 10x larger than your culture volume and to shake it around (most incubators for bacterial cultures have a large plate mounted inside that will shake the flasks). Baffled flasks exist to get even more effective aeration.

If that is not good enough for your purposes, you might try bubbling air through the culture with an aquarium pump. Run the air through a filter to sterilize it.
